The Unit­ed Na­tions Gen­er­al As­sem­bly de­clared the year 2022 as the In­ter­na­tion­al Year of Sus­tain­able Moun­tain De­vel­op­ment.

The res­o­lu­tion ti­tled “In­ter­na­tion­al Year of Sus­tain­able Moun­tain De­vel­op­ment, 2022 in­tends to in­crease aware­ness of the im­por­tance of sus­tain­able moun­tain de­vel­op­ment and the con­ser­va­tion and sus­tain­able use of moun­tain ecosys­tems.

XPRIZE Rainforest

The $10 Mil­lion XPRIZE Rain­for­est is a glob­al, five-year com­pe­ti­tion chal­leng­ing in­no­va­tors to de­vel­op nov­el, scal­able tech­nolo­gies that rapid­ly and com­pre­hen­sive­ly sur­vey rain­for­est bio­di­ver­si­ty – us­ing the da­ta to de­liv­er new in­sights to pro­mote the con­ser­va­tion of this vi­tal ecosys­tem along­side lo­cal com­mu­ni­ties.

Globam

GloBAM is a new re­search project fund­ed by Bio­Di­vER­sa with part­ners from across Switzer­land, Bel­gium, Fin­land, the Nether­lands, the UK and the USA. The project has emerged from the Eu­ro­pean Net­work for the Radar sur­veil­lance of An­i­mal Move­ment, a mul­ti-dis­ci­pli­nary net­work of in­ter­na­tion­al sci­en­tists who have tak­en up a world lead­ing po­si­tion in the use of radar in an­i­mal move­ment stud­ies.

Born Global Foundation

An ed­u­ca­tion­al char­i­ty (501C3) ap­ply­ing the Bio­mimicry Method­ol­o­gy to projects in eco­log­i­cal restora­tion, en­vi­ron­men­tal tech­nol­o­gy, and so­cial change­mak­ing. Born Glob­al aims to in­no­vate sys­tems which em­u­late the nat­ur­al world’s ge­nius and col­lec­tive­ly bring so­lu­tions to the world’s BiG chal­lenges, to cre­ate ed­u­ca­tion and em­ploy­ment in biore­gion hotspots by bring­ing eco­log­i­cal and tech­no­log­i­cal progress that mat­ters and to achieve mea­sur­able so­cial progress.
